Basic running equipment you need to know

1. Running shoes

You can’t simply grab some fancy sneakers and declare them as your running shoes; There are some very important considerations to make when choosing these shoes. For starters, you should be aware of the weight of the shoe that will fit you. Most of the time, lighter weights are preferred, but there is a range in the light series as well.

Moving forward, you need to consider the durability of the shoe and how hot the shoe will be when you wear it. If it’s covered too tightly and doesn’t allow any air pores in, it will turn into a huge problem after the first half hour or so.

2. Appropriate clothing

You may have the best cotton tee that feels best for running, but on your first run you’ll realize there are some very specific qualities needed in a garment. The shirt should not be loose so that the air friction does not take too much energy to run the same lap. Same goes for the shorts/pants you choose.

In addition, you need to check the quality of the sports shirt/bra you choose and ensure that it allows enough air to pass through. You should always try to buy two so that you have enough time to wash one while wearing the other.

3. Water carrier

While running long distances, there is no doubt that you will need water, and everyone is not lucky enough to have a running track right next to his/her house. In this case, you should have a water carrier that you can take with you without its weight being a hindrance to your performance.

Sports stores offer glove-attached bottles for runners and you shouldn’t miss out on getting one.

4. Sports watch

After a few weeks of running, you will automatically find that you need to take some time to yourself and see how much you have improved. These times make equipment such as sports watches very important.

Most importantly, these watches are very resilient when it comes to falls and damage, so you can run around without worry.

5. Ice pack

An ice pack is the best way to temporarily treat minor injuries, and you should have one wrapped in your backpack in case an emergency arises, because there is no guarantee that you will have a running partner with you.
